the Recipe Books!
“I’m dreaming of a white Christmas….but if the white runs out I’ll drink the red!” – Unknown
Are you addicted to recipe books? Do you spend hours flicking through them but are still unable to find inspiration for your next dinner party? Today I’m going to give you four easy recipes for a starter, main and dessert which will hopefully take away the stress of menu planning for at least one evening this Christmas! Or you could do what a friend of mine did last year and use the same menu plan for every dinner party over the holidays ensuring of course that different guests are invited each time!
STARTER
Prawns and Auntie Frog in Lettuce Boats
Add a good dollop of Auntie Frog’s Lime & Chilli Dressing to some mayonnaise and stir in. Mix in the prawns. Separate the leaves of a little gem lettuce and fill the individual leaves with the prawn mix. Done!
MAIN
Roast Chicken with Smokey Rape Seed Oil
About half an hour before cooking, rub your chicken with our Smoked Rapeseed Oil. Just before putting it in the oven to roast, sprinkle with a little sea salt.
Roasted Root Vegetables with Rosie’s Doo-Dah Sauce
Take a selection of vegetables – anything suitable hanging around in your fridge such as courgettes, carrots, marrow, squash, pumpkin, peppers, potatoes, plus a couple of onions or leeks.
Peel and quarter the onions, chop the vegetables into large chunks, the potatoes into small chunks. Spread the vegetables evenly on a baking tray and pour over a generous slug of Doo-Dah Sauce. Season and bake at 160 degrees C for 50 minutes. Yum! Yum!
DESSERT
Curd Mousse
Fold one of our Curds (Toffee Apple, Blackcurrant & Star Anise, Lime & Mint, Passionfruit & Lemon, Rhubarb & Vanilla or Zesty Orange) into whipped cream and you have a delicious mousse!
Yum! Yum!
Have a very very Happy Christmas!
